How To: Troubleshoot Call Issues

Overview

If youre experiencing trouble making or receiving calls, these basic steps could help get you connected again:

  1. Make sure Data is on and Airplane Mode is off.

  2. Turn on Data Roaming for seamless usage in our Freedom and Nationwide networks.

  3. Restart your phone.



If these steps didn’t help, follow the additional troubleshooting steps below.

Network Selection

If you previously had good network connection in the same area, you may be able to reconnect to the Freedom Mobile network by following the steps below, the steps to do this will depend on the phone you are using:

Important: If you manually connect to the Freedom Mobile network using advanced settings, please re-enable automatic network selection to avoid service disruptions and automatically connection in the future.

Reset Mobile Network Settings

As a final step, we recommend resetting the Mobile Network Setting on your phone. Don’t worry—this won’t delete your photos, contacts, or other data, but you may need to re-enter Wi-Fi passwords and reconnect Bluetooth devices.

Additional Tips

  • Confirm you are connected to the Freedom or Nationwide network.

  • Confirm you have sufficient coverage bars on your device.

  • Are you using Wi-Fi Calling? If so, disconnect from Wi-Fi, and attempt again.

    Important: Wi-Fi calling does not support location-based calling services (such as 8-1-1, 2-1-1, 3-1-1 and #taxi)

  • Confirm you are up to date on your monthly bills. Visit My Account to confirm.
