How To: Change the Name on your Account

Overview

We can change the name on your Freedom Mobile account in the following scenarios:

  1. You have legally changed your name, i.e. as a result of marriage, divorce, etc.

  2. Your account name requires significant spelling correction.

A name change will not change ownership of the account. The same customer will remain responsible for the device, service, and charges associated with the account.

Completing a Name Change

To request a name change on your account, please visit us in-store.

Be sure to bring the following documents:

  • Two pieces of ID

  • Your account number and phone number

  • One piece of documentation to confirm a name change, including Name Change Certificate, a Marriage Certificate or a Change of name Affidavit
