About: The Warranty Process

Overview

Freedom Mobile devices are covered by the manufacturers limited warranty, valid for one year from the date of purchase, when accompanied by the original sales receipt.

The manufacturer’s limited warranty covers defects which meet the manufacturer’s requirements, a copy of which is available on the manufacturer’s website.

The manufacturer’s limited warranty does not cover defects or damage caused by: improper storage; damage from liquids; unauthorized modification; misuse; neglect; abuse; accidents; alteration; improper installation; abnormal operating conditions; events outside of human control (such as natural disasters).

Concerns within the First 15 days

If your device proves to be faulty within the first 15 days of purchase, return it to the original store where you purchased your device, and upon determining your device’s warranty eligibility we will exchange it for a new device at no extra charge.

The faulty device must be in like new condition, and all accessories and packaging should be returned in order to receive a replacement device.

Concerns after 15 days

After the 15th day and up to the 365th day after (including) the date of purchase, you can visit a participating Warranty Centre where we will send your device away for repair if the in-store associate is unable to resolve the problem. You also have the option to mail-in your non-Apple device for repair directly to our Manufacturer Authorized Repair Centres.

Fees may apply within the manufacturer's limited warranty depending on the problem and the options you choose.

Warranty Repair Options

We have several options for you to take advantage of your manufacturer’s limited warranty:

1. Mail In Repair

You have the option to mail-in your non-Apple device for repair directly to FutureTel, our Manufacturer Authorized Repair Centre. Upon submission of your repair request, FutureTel will ship you the necessary items to send your device in for repair.

2. Warranty Centres - Mail in: In-store

We have Warranty Centre locations across Canada, where you can take advantage of the manufacturer’s limited warranty.

3. Manufacturer Authorized Repair Centre - Walk In: On-Site Partners

We have a partnership with Manufacturer Authorized Repair Centre, Cell Phone Repair (CPR), where you can also get out-of-warranty support for devices for a variety of manufacturers, including, but not limited to, Apple, Samsung, Google, LG, and Motorola. Youll receive a quote directly from CPR for repair work and if you choose to reject the repair quote, a diagnostics fee will not apply.

If you purchased one of our available Phone Protection Plans, you can also submit a service request to have your device fixed based on the options included in your chosen plan.

Phone Protection Plans

In addition to the manufacturer’s limited warranty, we offer optional protection plans for you to choose from, including:

1. Freedom Phone Protection Plans

You can opt into a Freedom Phone Protection Plan, within 30 days of activating a new device or upgrading your device. Once enrolled, the applicable Phone Protection Plan monthly service fee, will be added to your monthly bill. Coverage is optional and you can cancel at any time.

Enroll into any of the following options in-store, online, or with customer care when completing your device activation or device upgrade:

  1. Phone Protection Plan: Covers accidental damage including cracks, liquid damage and more.

  2. Phone Protection Plan Plus: Offers additional coverage against loss and theft

  3. Phone Protection Plan featuring AppleCare Services: Get extended coverage beyond your Apple device’s one-year limited warranty with support from Apple via chat & phone, and coverage against damage and malfunctions.

  4. Phone Protection Plan Plus featuring AppleCare Services: Everything within the Phone Protection Plan featuring AppleCare Services plus coverage against loss and theft.

2. Apple Care+

Apple Care+ is only available to purchase in-store at the time of device purchase. If you signed up for AppleCare+ please follow the instructions you received when you enrolled, to process your claim.


Important: If you ordered your device from a store and it was shipped to you, contact Apple to add Apple Care+.

Important: If your loaner device is lost, stolen or damaged while in your possession, you will be charged the replacement cost of the device. Loaned devices that are not returned will no longer be authorized to connect to any cellular network.
