Freedom Mobile is committed to enhancing the level of convenience to our customers by providing the following accessibility services:

  • Teletypewriter – TTY Service 7-1-1

  • IP relay service

  • Directory assistance

Teletypewriter – TTY Service 7-1-1

TTY is an operator service that allows people who are deaf, hard of hearing or speech impaired to place calls to standard telephone users via a keyboard or assistive device. To use TTY service, the device or phone needs to be hooked up to a phone or analog jack. Once the device is hooked up, simply dial 7-1-1 to get in touch with a representative. TTY service is free of charge to Freedom Mobile subscribers (subject to change). Only Freedom Mobile subscribers can dial 7-1-1 through our network.

IP Relay Service

IP Relay service is a voice relay service provided to active Freedom Mobile customers who are registered IP Relay service users. Communication between the operator and IP Relay service happens over the Internet and is being relayed to the other party through usual voice call. This service enables faster communications with the relay operator and allows you to see more of the conversation on your computer screen. Calls to anywhere in Canada are free of charge (subject to change).

Directory Assistance

Freedom Mobile offers a credit for the visually impaired to cover the cost of 3 directory assistance calls per month.

To qualify for this credit, you’ll need to activate a standard plan with a compatible device and contact us to have to have the credit applied to the account.

To remain eligible for the credit, your account must remain in good standing. Should your subscription lapse or if you unsubscribe from Freedom Mobile the credit will be lost.

Alternative Formats

Freedom Mobile can provide a copy of your contract, bills and other information in an alternative format for people with disabilities upon request free of charge.

Speed Dots

Freedom Mobile also supports visually impaired customers by offering the Speed Dots screen overlay. This screen overlay is a tactile screen protector, which provides additional physical guidance to visually impaired customers when navigating their device.

Speed Dots are simple, effective, and approved for use by the Canadian Wireless Telecommunications Association (CWTA). The Speed Dot screen overlay can be used with the Apple iPhone 7 and Apple iPhone 8 and if provide to you at $; Freedom covers the cost of the accessory and shipping.
